Who We Love: Dennys Ilic

Let me introduce you to amazing photographer and human being: Dennys Ilic

I met Den Den (his nickname) at Supanova Melbourne some years ago when he presented an amazing slideshow based around the last days of Battlestar Galactica filming which he shot. Some how we became friends and I discovered someone that truly loves what he does, who he works with and doesn't tell me to get lost when I ask silly questions.

Dennys' job is pretty amazing. He has crafted a career around shooting celebraties with cameras. Not in the bad paparazzi way, but in the amazing portrait way.  He has worked with some the biggest in the world, including Daniel Radcliffe, Ryan Reynolds, Amanda Tapping, Liv Tyler and more. He is also a skilled cinematographer and has been at the forefront of HDSLR filmmaking. This lead him to shoot the amazing film Face to Face which become the first cinematically released film shot entirely on HDSLRs and went on to win over 40 international awards.

Our New Challenge.

A little history.

Joffre Street was born out of something fun but unrefined. It was done as a name with no thought behind it. For years the idea of what Joffre Street stood for has moved and shifted as needs and wants changed. There never been a true focus, it always been a touch of survival and a brush of fun.

It's about time the child grow up.

So over the next 8 months the plan is to focus and make Joffre Street less survival and more tactical with a vision, an end goal. The broad goal is to grow, mature and evolve.

What does that mean?

Well for starters it boiling down what we do to it's core elements and only offering services where our passion lies. No more taking job on that fall outside our core values. It's time for us to become masters of our domain and leave the kitchen sink at home.

So what will we offer?

At the moment that is a work in progress. We will over the next 8 months nail down what exactly Joffre Street is and will be. It's going to be hard and things will change but in the end our clients new and old will have a company working with them that is truly passionate about the services and products we provide.

So bare with us, it's time for this little duck to finally start flying or at least flap it's wings and try to get airborne.

Please join us for this journey, hopefully it will inspire others as well.
